This street map of Port of Spain was produced by the National Emergency Management Agency as part of a series of ‘disaster response maps’ for Tobago and each county of Trinidad. Published in 1991 by the Lands & Surveys Department, it is a prescient and remarkable achievement in delivering potentially lifesaving information to the general public.

The successor of the National Emergency Management Agency is now the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management (ODPM), which continues to produce advice, information and plans for the public.
