This is a digital copy of ‘Grand Island’, a topographic map printed by the US federal government.
It is part of the Joint Operations Graphic (Air) series at 1:250,000. These topo maps are available throughout the Americas, and they portray the landscape more effectively than United States Geological Survey quads at the same scale. JOGs have the same attention to detail as 1×2 degree quadrangles, but their layer coloring, relief shading, landmarks, and minimal clutter give them superior legibility in the outdoors.
Key details of the printed map:
- edition 1
- reprinted in April 2002 by the National Imagery and Mapping Agency
- published by the Defense Mapping Agency, Hydrographic/Topographic Center
- air information current through December 12, 1981
- base map compiled in February 1981
- from survey information last dated 1978
This map offers more recent information than the equivalent USGS sheet, which was surveyed 8 years previously, in 1970.
